Atletico Madrid are launching a bid for Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta.

El Mundo Deportivo says Atletico have already tabled an offer of £6 million for the 30 year-old Italy international.

With doubts persisting over the futures of Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan, Atletico must splash out this summer for at least one - if not two - new strikers.

Iaquinta saw a major offer for him from Zenit St Petersburg turned down earlier this month and he insists he wants to stay in Turin.
