Atletico Madrid are set to lose defender Leandro Cabrera for up to seven Liga games.
Cabrera has been named in Uruguay's squad for the U20 World Championships.
The defender will be missing for Racing Santander, Barcelona, Almeria, Valencia and Zaragoza and the Champions League games against Apoel Nicosia and Porto.
