Atletico Madrid have announced Kieran Trippier will be out for the rest of 2021 with a shoulder injury, which he picked up in his side's 3-3 draw away at Valencia on November 7.
The news comes as a blow for Diego Simeone's side, who sit fourth in LaLiga Santander with 23 points from their first 12 games.
"The British full-back will carry out rehabilitation and physiotherapy sessions until he is ready to return to training with the group," confirmed Atleti's medical department.
Trippier now looks set to miss the next six league games at the very least, which includes a the cross-city derby against Real Madrid on December 12.
He will also miss the Champions League group-stage clashes against AC Milan and Porto.
