Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was delighted with their win 3-1 at Feyenoord,
Atletico needed two own goals for the crucial Champions League win.
Simeone later said, "I am very happy for the players. Today, we knew how difficult our opponent would be, the significance their home ground has had when they played in Europe, and how well they are doing in the league.
"But we dealt with it well, we played the game we wanted to play. There were some very good individual performances and, collectively, I think we played an important game for the club.
“It's always important to finish as high as possible. It's been years since we've been able to reach the end [of the group stage] with this peace of mind. We still have to see if we will finish first or second, but now we can keep working and rest because this match demanded a lot from us."
On midfielder Rodrigo Riquelme, the coach also said: "He played an extraordinary match. I knew I had to play him today. Lino had a really good game against Mallorca, but I knew that [Riquelme's] characteristics could be better for the team in this match.
"We got it right and he played an incredible game."
