A Jose Morales goal in the first half and a late Jorge de Frutos strike gave Levante a hard-fought 2-0 over Atletico Madrid at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

This is now the third time Los Rojiblancos drop points in their last four LaLiga Santander games and their first defeat since their loss to Real Madrid back in December.

"I'm not looking for excuses," Atletico coach Diego Simeone said after the 2-0 home defeat to Levante.

"The coaches have to find solutions. In the second half we did it and we have to be the ones to give them to the players who are out there.

"League campaigns are always the same. There are difficult moments, but that goes for everyone.

"Those who are strong in bad moments are the ones who reach their goal.

"When you have an objective, it is important to get there, it is wonderful.

"But you have to go through the journey to get there.

"There are obstacles. It is logical to encounter obstacles and then, when you achieve the goal, you enjoy it much more."
