Atletico Madrid coach Simeone happy after victory at Getafe: Morata? I'm not the club's owner

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was pleased with their 3-0 win at Getafe on Monday night.

Alvaro Morata and Antoine Griezmann were both on the scoresheet for Atletico's winning LaLiga opener.

Simeone said, "The result ends up being comfortable, but the path was possibly not reflected by any lack of forcefulness of Getafe. They had chances with lateral centres and they demanded us in defence. It happened in the first half and in the run-up to the second goal. After the second goal the tables turned. There are things to improve, but the team is working very well."

Asked about Morata's future, Simeone said: "I am not the owner of the club, I am the coach. He is doing very well, working in an extraordinary way and we hope that Morata will continue with us."

On the performance of Joao Felix, he added: "He looks more and more mature, stronger. He showed it last season until he had to leave due to injury. He is growing, shows maturity, weight and sees more than the others. The first sees Morata very well, the second even better and is growing."
