Atletico Madrid coach Javier Aguirre has shrugged off his angry exchange with Villarreal midfielder Robert Pires during Saturday's 3-0 defeat.

"There were no insults from me. He told me that I talk much. I told him to keep quiet… But in football, the things that happen on the field should stay on the field. There's nothing to be concerned about.

"I have been in football for 32 years and in each game certainly there have been insults and many other things. But this is part of football."
