Atletico Madrid boss Simeone unsurprised by "Man Utd, Inter Milan" Cerci rumours

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has no problem with Alessio Cerci being linked with Manchester United and Inter Milan.

However, he was disappointed with the Italian's comments this week.

"With respect to individual statements, I always refer to the collective," insisted Simeone.

"I read in the newspapers that Manchester United, Inter and Arsenal want Cerci and I haven't given him the chance to play, so evidently we are a great team.

"We managed to sell Demichelis, even though he hadn't played a game for us, and Cerci, who hasn't played much either, is being tracked by three extraordinary teams.

"Seeing the newspapers makes me think we are a great side. I was not hurt [by Cerci's complaints] because it's not a thought towards the Coach, but rather an expression.

"I can't train players individually because I only know how to train them collectively.

"The confidence [in him] isn't lost. The Coach is always thinking about the team, and it's very difficult to choose between Griezmann, Cerci, Raul Garcia, Mandzukic, Jimenez...

"Someone has to be out of the team, not out of trust but for what's needed to win a game."
