Athletic Bilbao midfielder Carlos Gurpegi feels for teammate Ander Herrera over his failed Manchester United move on Monday.
Herrera was all set to sign for United, only for the move to collapse at the eleventh hour.
Gurpegi commented: "Herrera is very calm. He is very comfortable with Athletic. It is true that until 12 there was a possibility he was leaving, but Athletic were not going to negotiate with any team.
"Tomorrow he will explain what he feels. I cannot put myself in his situation because I have never lived it, but the identification of players with Athletic is great. The feeling is very strong."
