Athletic Bilbao target Monreal has no plans to leave Arsenal

Spanish full-back Nacho Monreal has stated that he has no plans to leave north London after being strongly linked with a move back to Spain this summer.

The 29-year old will enter the final 12 months of his contract in the summer, and a move to Athletic Bilbao has been linked, however the Spaniard has denied these rumours and expressed his intentions of remain at the Emirates Stadium.

"I have one more year on my contract and I would like to stay at Arsenal," Monreal told UAE news outlet Sport360.

"I am very lucky to play for Arsenal, and am very happy to play for Arsenal.

"I would like to stay. If the boss wants me to stay, I will do as I am very happy."

Monreal joined the Gunners in January of 2013 from Spanish side Malaga, and has since went on to make 61 appearances for the north London side.
