Atalanta president Ivan Ruggeri insists there's no regrets over Christian Vieri's move to Fiorentina last summer.

"You cannot mourn for a player who has decided to leave you," said Ruggeri. "I would have kept Vieri if we had the resources in Bergamo to satisfy him.

"This wasn't possible and I believe we made the right decision. Atalanta is Atalanta and we cannot take risks with our financial standing."
