Aston Villa are close to concluding the sale of winger Trezeguet for about £3 million.

Manager Steven Gerrard does not see Trezeguet as part of his plans for next season.

According to the Daily Mail, Turkish club Trabzonspor are ready to offer the attacker a lifeline.

Trezeguet has been a bit part player at Villa over the past year, and wants regular first team football.

Other Villa players who are on the chopping block include Bertrand Traore, Morgan Sanson and Anwar El Ghazi.

Another who might leave if a large enough offer arrives is midfielder Douglas Luiz.
