Aston Villa are determined to keep Christian Benteke at the club by offering him a lucrative new contract.

According to the Daily Mail, Villa are set to offer the Belgian striker £75,000-a-week and want to increase his buyout clause which currently sits at £32.5million.

With the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, and now even Arsenal showing considerable interest in Benteke, Villa are desperate to tie him down to a new deal to keep him from joining a Premier League.

The 24-year old enjoyed some brilliant form under Tim Sherwood in the second half of the season, scoring 12 goals in 15 matches under the tutelage of the former Tottenham boss.
