Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood is chasing Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.

The Sunday Mirror says Sherwood has been impressed by Vardy, another new recruit named by England manager Roy Hodgson.

Vardy's reward for his part in the Great Escape by Leicester will be the offer of a lucrative new three­-year contract by his current club.

Manager Nigel Pearson will be reluctant to sell the striker he bought for £1million from Fleetwood but an offer of £15 million could tempt Leicester to sell.
