Aston Villa are launching a bid for Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe.

The Daily Mail says the 21–year-old spent last season on loan at the Midlands club, and played a key role in their promotion to the Premier League.

It is understood that Villa officials want to seal his return – preferably on a permanent basis.

Whether United would be open to allowing Tuanzebe to depart is unclear.

One option may be another loan, although Villa would be likely to insist on a clause allowing them to buy the player in the deal.
