Aston Villa have made an offer for Southampton defender Matt Targett - who wants to go.
Villa are looking for a new left-back and boss Dean Smith wants ex-England U21 international Targett.
Targett, 23, now plans to tell Southampton he needs to quit for regular top-flight football after they refused to sell him to Fulham a year ago, says the Mirror.
Targett has since played 21 times for Saints last term but remains behind senior pro and big earner Ryan Bertrand in the pecking order.
He harbours dreams of potentially winning a full England call-up and accepts he now needs to leave Southampton, where he has played since aged 12.
