Aston Villa are closing in on Ajax goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer.
Villa boss Alex McLeish sees Vermeer as ideal cover for No1 Shay Given as American keeper Brad Guzan plans to leave this summer.
McLeish has already had Vermeer scouted in the past fortnight and Ajax expect a Villa scout to again be present when they face PSV Eindhoven on the weekend.
