Aston Villa keeper Martinez flattered by Bolivian support

Aston Villa and Argentina shot stopper Emiliano Martinez admits he was surprised on international duty this week.

Martinez spoke about how he was received by Bolivia supporters ahead of a World Cup qualifier.

The shot stopper and his teammates won the game 3-0 in La Paz, with Martinez playing for the 32nd time for his nation.

He also played in the 1-0 win over Ecuador, as his nation makes swift work of World Cup qualifying.

"Normally they don't like me much outside of Argentina," he told Argentinian outlet TyC Sports after the Bolivia game.

"But today I was surprised by the Bolivian people who chanted my name and I have a lot of respect for this country."
