Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given was full of praise for Arsenal ace Alexis Sanchez after Saturday's FA Cup final. Given reckons the FA Cup was won by one of the greatest goals in its 143-year history.

The veteran keeper is in no doubt Alexis Sanchez's 50th minute stinger was the moment Villa had any hopes of Wembley glory went up in smoke.

"That was stunning - an absolute game changer. To be honest, once that went in we were always going to be struggling.

"The best team won without a doubt, but we were very much in the game and if we could keep it at 1-0 until the last minute then you've always got a chance.

"But Sanchez has just produced a moment of sheer brilliance. I've seen it on the video and it's a great strike.

"The ball has moved all over the place and then off the bar. How are you supposed to get to that?

"He's a special player and that's what special players can do. That knocked the stuffing out of us at a bad time."
