Aston Villa are interested in Espanyol striker Dani Osvaldo.
The Argentine-born Italy U21 international has only just returned from long-term injury.
Cadena Ser says Villa scouts are following Osvaldo's progress with the view to recommending his signing to manager Gerard Houllier in the summer.
Osvaldo, a centre-forward, is under consideration at Villa as a foil for £24 million striker Darren Bent.
