Christian Benteke has claimed that Aston Villa were the better side in a pulsating 3-3 draw against QPR on Tuesday night.
Benteke scored from a free-kick with seven minutes left on the clock to earn his side a valuable point at Villa Park but felt the West Midlands outfit deserved all three points.
"It is always nice to get a hat-trick but it is shame we didn't get the three points," Benteke told Sky Sports. "I think we deserved three points, we were better than them."
Benteke had earlier scored two goals following Matt Phillips' 7th-minute opener for the R's to give Villa a 2-1 lead at half-time before Charlie Austin and Clint Hill scored for the visitors in the second half to give them back the lead ahead of the Belgian's late intervention.
Tim Sherwood's men remain three points above the relegation zone in 16th spot on the Premier League table.
