Aston Villa are closing in on a deal for Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
The Daily Mail says Aston Villa's hopes of signing Sneijder have been boosted by the Holland international's agent admitting Inter Milan were nowhere near reaching Real Madrid's asking price.
The Spanish giants are desperate to offload players to bring in another £70m before the transfer window closes and they value Sneijder at more than £20million.
Villa would want to knock at least £5m off the asking price, but Inter are ready to completely abandon their pursuit and instead make a move for Bordeaux midfielder Yoann Gourcuff.
