Aston Villa fan makes mad dash from Melbourne to Wembley

Australian-based Aston Villa fan Dan Lowry has no regrets regarding his expensive trip from Melbourne to London to watch the FA Cup Final.

Lowry spent about £1,600 and travelled 22,000 miles to watch his beloved Villa contest the FA Cup final against Arsenal at Wembley on Saturday. The trip ended on a sour note for Lowry as he saw Villa succumb to a 4-0 defeat.

Despite the disappointing nature of the final though, Lowry has stated that he has no regrets whatsoever and added that he would do it all again.

"I had to be there," he told the Birmingham Mail. "I'm Villa through and through. It's cost me a few quid, but it doesn't matter.

"I got chance to catch up with my family and a few mates and I lost my voice because I was chanting so much.

"The less said about the game itself the better, but Arsenal were top class. It's a bit pathetic that we didn't manage a shot of target, but it was still worth me coming home for.

"Kayleigh, my other half, understands what I'm like. I've always told her that Aston Villa are my true love! I'm a bit worn out, but I haven't got any regrets. I'd do it again, but hopefully with a win next time!!"
