Aston Villa will meet with Carles Gil's representatives to discuss his future at the club.

22-year old Spanish midfielder Gil joined Villa from Valencia in January and started brightly under Paul Lambert but has since played under an hour for Tim Sherwood.

The Daily Mail reports that Sherwood has not yet been convinced by Gil, who cost Villa £3.25million, and could offload him in the summer as he looks to rebuild the squad he inherited from Lambert.
