Tim Sherwood is of the belief that Aston Villa is the type of club that deserves to remain in the Premier League.

Villa, currently sitting 14th on the table, are just two points above the relegation zone with three fixtures remaining in the season.

Having won two and drawn one of their past four outings, there is a chance of complacency creeping in at Villa Park but Sherwood insists that his players are aware of the task at hand and what it means for a club of this stature.

"I can only go on how I've seen these boys they realise they're in a severe situation here, there is a real danger of relegation, they have been warned about that from start," he said ahead of Saturday's home clash with West Ham United.

"We can all agree they are doing everything they can to keep this great club in the Premier League - that's where it belongs."
