Aston Villa are moving for Manchester City defender Micah Richards.

Richards has spent the season on-loan with Fiorentina and is off contract at City next month.

The Daily Star Sunday says Villa boss Tim Sherwood has made his interest known in the last fortnight.

They have joined Liverpool, West Ham and Newcastle in eyeing Richards, 26, who is out of contract in the summer.
