Aston Villa are chasing Lorient midfielder Morgan Amalfitano.
L'Equipe says Villa are competing with Spanish Liga clubs for Amalfitano.
Amalfitano would prefer a move to la Liga and, according to Spanish sources, he has already passed a medical with Sevilla.
However Lorient insist nothing has been signed as potential suitors look to make a last ditch attempt to sign the coveted midfielder. Gerard Houllier's Aston Villa are rumoured to be among the candidates searching for his signature.
