Aston Villa are being linked with Brazilian midfielder Alex Teixeira.

Teixeira is available from China's Jiangsu Suning and being linked with a return to Europe.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk star is said to be wanted by Villa and Benfica.

Indeed, it's claimed Villa have tabled a one-year contract offer to the Brazilian with the option of another 12 months.

The 31-year-old played for Shakhtar from 2010 to 2015, after which he moved to China's Jiangsu Suning, despite Liverpool's interest.
