Aston Villa have rehashed their interest in Tottenham's Andros Townsend.

The Daily Mirror reports that Villa boss Tim Sherwood is still keen on the 24-year-old winger who has fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane in recent times.

Sherwood worked with the England international in North London and is eager to reunite at Villa Park but may be put off by Spurs' £15million valuation.

Townsend, who is also a reported target for Newcastle United, missed Tottenham's season opener at Manchester United on Saturday with a shoulder injury.
