Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley sees Harry Redknapp as their next manager. Redknapp left QPR last week as he faces two knee operations.

Ashley will try to persuade the former Loftus Road chief to return to football at St James' Park next summer when he has recovered from surgery, says the Daily Star.

Ashley tried in vain to lure Redknapp to the Magpies back in 2008 in a deal which would have earned the former Spurs supremo £20million.
