Ian Ashbee has reflected on Hull City's amazing progress from League Two to the Premiership in six years.

When Ashbee joined the Tigers just under six years ago, the masterplan for escaping from the basement division of the Football League was still being formulated.

"It was always possible that this club could go all the way," Ashbee told Hull's website. "In fact, I knew it would, but I didn't realise it would happen as quickly as it has done.

"Nobody can take it away from us now. We didn't finish third in the table through luck and we deserve to go up.

"Next season will be a challenge for all of us, but it's one I'm desperate to do."
