Arteta hits back at Watford counterpart Ranieri over Arsenal criticism

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta hit back at his Watford counterpart Claudio Ranieri after their Premier League clash this weekend.

The Watford coach accused Arsenal of not having any respect after his Hornets were beaten 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

Watford put the ball out of play to ensure a player could receive treatment, while Arsenal did not return possession back to them.

In the same move, Emile Smith Rowe scored the winning goal for the Gunners.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the Arsenal boss said: "I cannot think about any club, any team, that is more honest and sometimes naive as us. So there is no bad intentions on that at all.

"If anything, I apologise, I haven't seen the action but [Ranieri] has that feeling. I just apologise but we compete the right way all the time and using the law and that's it."
