Arsenal's Inter loanee Podolski doesn't deserve Germany spot says Strunz

Football pundit Thomas Strunz has stated his belief that Lukas Podolski does not deserve a place in the German national team.

Podolski has endured a very difficult campaign this term after struggling for minutes at Arsenal, while failing to recapture his best form at Inter Milan since his move to the San Siro during the January transfer window.

Despite his poor displays, Podolski remains a regular for the German national team under manager Joachim Low and unsurprisingly, the winger was called up for the recent international program by the 55-year old.

However, pundit Strunz believes that Podolski's inclusion in the national team is not justified and added that Low should give younger players a chance rather than remaining loyal to the veteran.

He said: "I was surprised in the previous year that Lukas Podolski was at the World Cup. He has not played regularly at Inter, the situation is now even a disaster for him.

"That's a bitter pill for all other offensive wingers, whose results in the Bundesliga have prevailed, but never get a real chance because Joachim Löw puts in Podolski."
