Arsenal youngster Akpom gives England late reprieve in Toulon

Chuba Akpom has helped the England U20 side pick up a point in their opening match at the 2015 Toulon Tournament.

Aidy Boothroyd's side, who had a plyer sent off in the second half, fought back twice to force a 3-3 draw with Morocco in their Group B opener in the south of France.

Talented Birmingham City winger Demaray Gray opened the scoring for the Three Lions in the eighth minute before Reda El Hajhouj responded five minutes later for the North Africans who then edged ahead a minute later through Achraf Bencharki.

Sunderland winger Duncan Watmore levelled for England on 24 minutes before Bencharki helped himself to his second goal by putting Morocco in front six minutes before the break prior to Dominic Iorfa being sent off for a second bookable offence early in the second half.

However, Arsenal starlet Akpom came off the bench to provide a late intervention with just over 10 minutes remaining in the form of a cool finish from about 12 yards to give his side a share of the points.

England next meet the Ivory Coast on Saturday while Morocco get set for their clash with China on the same day.
