Montpellier chairman Laurent Nicollin has made it clear that Younes Belhanda will not certainly leave the club at the end of the season.
The 22-year old Moroccan midfielder was the target of a bit from Turkish club Fenerbahce as well as interest from clubs such as Arsenal, Tottenham and Inter Milan in January but a move never eventuated and he may yet stay a La Paillade player in the summer.
"With Younes we have the same words we had with Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa (who left for Newcastle United last month). We will take stock in April-May," Nicollin told L'Equipe.
"We didn't sign any paper to state he will absolutely leave in July. If he has a good season that would allow him to get a nice opportunity and if the club could take advantage of it, why not."
