Arsenal will battle it out with Galatasaray in a bid to sign Jason Denayer from Manchester City.

The Sun is reporting that Arsene Wenger has identified the Belgium international as a cheap option to bolster his defence following injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista.

However, Denayer is wanted by Turkish giants Galatasaray where he spent time on loan last season and the Istanbul outfit could be successful in their pursuit of the 21-year-old.

Galatasaray sporting director Levent Nazifoglu said: "Talks have been positive. There is a good chance Denayer will return."

It is believed that City boss Pep Guardiola is willing to permanently sell Denayer for arounds £12million.
