Arsenal are lining up a move for Inter Milan midfielder Thiago Motta.
The Sun says Arsenal have turned to Inter Milan's Thiago Motta after the Italians beat them in the race for Ricardo Alvarez, the Velez Sarsfield midfielder.
He has a £9.25m release clause in the contract he signed after arriving from Genoa in 2009.
Motta, 28, was a key member of the Inter side who won the 2010 Champions League.
Tall and strong in the centre of midfield, he won his first cap for Italy in February after spending the first six years of his career with Barcelona.
And he also played for Atletico Madrid before moving to Italy in 2008.
