Arsenal club captain Mikel Arteta hailed their team spirit after winning the FA Cup.
Arteta was ruled out of the game due to injury, but lifted the Cup after victory over Aston Villa.
"It's really good. I didn't want to do it but Per (Mertesacker) asked me to go up there with him. I thought it was his day and an opportunity for him to get that feeling that I had last year with the Community Shield. I'm really proud and really grateful.
"It's a happy day and the best way to finish the season.
"It's amazing. It can only get better. With respect, everything we do right, we can still improve. We have all the elements to become better and better, and finally this club is getting to where it deserves to be. Now we have to be higher than that."
