Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi has urged Marouane Chamakh to hold talks with manager Arsene Wenger about his future.
The Morocco international has struggled to find a place in Wenger's plans since his arrival from Bordeaux.
"Marouane and Wenger will have to talk," said Grimandi. "He needs to know how things stand today.
"If Marouane feels good and wants to fight for a starting spot it will be no problem to stay here. But if he insists on getting more playing time, it will be a difficult story."
