Arsenal scout Grimandi highlights five kids for success

Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi has backed five of the club's current youngsters to become first team regulars.

In conversation with L'Equipe, Grimandi tipped Carlos Vela, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Amaury Bischoff and Francis Coquelin all to make it at Emirates stadium.

The scout said about Vela: "He is pure talent, with a great career ahead of him."

He added about Wilshere: "Like [Samir] Nasri at Marseille, he was born with the club's shirt on his back. He is an incredibly rare talent.

"Some of his markers tried to "do him" during the Emirates Cup last summer, but he was not scared."

About Ramsey, Grimandi said: "What surprises us the most is that he has imposed himself when we already have a top midfield. He is a great midfielder. He is already very mature and smart. His versatility is an asset."

And about Bischoff, he said: "He is back from many injuries. His courage helps him prove people who did not believe in him wrong."

On Coquelin, he added: "I love this story. I saw him by chance during a France v Belgium Under 17 game and nobody knew who he was.

"He did not make the usual professional way. We saw him during a friendly tournament in Turkey and then he came for a trial.

"He did not fancy coming but when he saw the facilities and the atmosphere, he did not hesitate."
