Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has hinted at a potential pursuit of Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra.
The Frenchman believes the Algerian is a quality player and spoke highly of him when commentating on television as a World Cup pundit.
"There are some good individuals in the Algeria team and I think they will get through the group with England," Wenger said.
"I know the youngster Ryad Boudebouz, who is a very good player. There is also Madjid Bougherra who plays at Rangers - I rate him too."
It may be just a standard comment but the fact that Wenger is seeking a replacement centre-half as William Gallas continues to defy a new contract, Sol Campbell is out of contract and Philippe Senderos is off to Fulham, indicates he may just be hinting at a move for Bougherra.
