Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking for his team to become a genuine title contender next season.
The Gunners comfortably accounted for Hull City 3-1 on Monday night to remain third on the Premier League table, 13 points behind champions Chelsea, with four fixtures remaining.
The north Londoners are one of the form teams in the league with nine wins from their last 10 matches and Wenger is hoping that form can rub off next term as they look to challenge Jose Mourinho's Blues.
"I'm always optimistic," he said on Sky Sports 1. "In our job, if you are pessimistic you don't go far. I feel that we have made progress.
"Chelsea are worthy winners this season because they have been the most consistent team of all. Let's finish the season well, prepare well for next season and give them a good fight."
