Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has had his ankle injury confirmed as ruptured ligaments but it is insure just how long he will be sidelined for. van Persie sustained the injury whilst on international duty for Holland on Saturday after being involved in a strong challenge with Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini.
He was taken straight to hospital for treatment and now it has been confirmed that he has torn the ligaments but thankfully, will not require surgery.
"The ankle ligaments are definitely torn," confirmed a Dutch FA spokesman.
"After the match our medical staff did not mention a break in the bone but the doctors will be able to tell us for sure. It does not look too good."
