Arsenal defender William Gallas has rejected the club's offer of a two-year deal because the pay was not increased.
The Gunners were confident the veteran Frenchman would be content with a contract extension but it seems they were wrong as the former Chelsea man has asked for about £100,000 a week more.
This latest development is likely to see the club and player at loggerheads and creates a cloud about Gallas' future especially as manager Arsene Wenger is keen to bring in replacement centre-halves.
