Francis Coquelin says he wants to have a similar impact on Arsenal as Nemanja Matic has had at Chelsea.
The Frenchman has been an integral part of the Gunners' line-up in 2015 following his return from a loan spell at Charlton Athletic and is determined to continue on in the same vein for the remainder of the season.
Ahead of Sunday's crunch clash with Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium, Coquelin highlighted the role Serbia international Matic plays for the league leaders and suggests that the type of influence he wants at Arsenal.
"What he's done is unbelievable. At Chelsea he is one of the main men so credit to him," he told Arsenal Player.
"He's had a great season and is a great player. It's always good to play against players like that.
"It's an important position and Matic has shown how important he is - that's what I'm trying to do as well for Arsenal.
"The fans want a good defensive midfielder, they know it's important for the team."
