Arsenal reserves coach Neil Banfield was delighted to hand French teen Cedric Evina his debut in this week's 2-1 defeat to Birmingham City.

He told arsenal.com: "I hadn't planned on using him so early, but what he brings is that he is a young lad so he has got good legs and he is very quick. He worked really hard for us and I think he has enjoyed his experience tonight."

While born in France, winger Evina has been in England since he was ten years of age.
