Arsenal legend Martin Keown believes that Arsenal need to invest in a world-class goalkeeper if they want to challenge Chelsea for the Premier League title next season.
Polish keeper Wojciech Szczesny's future at the Emirates looks in doubt and new arrival David Ospina, who has been admirable, has failed to excite the Arsenal supporters like Thibaut Courtois does with the newly-crowned champions.
"If Wojciech Szczesny is not going to be Arsenal's No 1 then a new goalkeeper is paramount," Keown told the Daily Mail.
"David Ospina has done well so if he keeps the gloves, it's not the end of the world.
"But Arsenal have the financial strength to go out and get a top goalkeeper.
"The spine of the team needs to be strengthened and that starts with a goalkeeper.
"Thibaut Courtois has put points on the board for Chelsea with his saves. Arsenal need the same."
