Arsenal are ready to pounce for Werder Bremen midfielder Mesut Ozil.

The Daily Star says Ozil has cleared the path for Arsenal to launch a £15m summer swoop.

Ozil, 21, has rejected the offer of a new deal at Werder Bremen and will not discuss an extension until the end of the season.

He will then have just a year to run on his contract and Bremen could be forced to sell.

That has put Arsene Wenger on red alert - but he will have to battle it out with Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona for the talented youngster.
