Arsenal intend to push through their signing of Real Sociedad striker Carlos Vela.
The Mirror says the Gunners want to activate a buy-back clause they inserted into the transfer of Vela to Real Sociedad in 2012.
Reports this morning suggest Arsene Wenger will conclude a £3.5m deal in the coming weeks, with the World Cup not causing a delay as the player is not in Mexico's 23-man squad.
Talks between the two clubs are said to be at an advanced stage, with Arsenal hoping to fend off interest from La Liga champions Atletico Madrid.
