Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is pushing to close a deal for Toulouse defender Serge Aurier.
The Daily Star Sunday says Wenger believes Aurier can replace Bacary Sagna, 31, whose contract runs out in June and is snubbing a new deal.
There is also concern over the form of Spanish left-back Nacho Monreal, 28.
Ivory Coast international Aurier - rated at £15million - is doing little to dampen speculation he could be heading to The Emirates.
He said: "You can't refuse an offer from Arsenal - it would be a dream."
